Question:

Speaker system for my LG DV356 DVD Player?

Hi i bought a LG DVD Player yesterday, I need to set up a 5.1 Channel speaker surround system. I though of buying a Creative Inspire system, but the Guys in the shop say that this 5.1 system is useless for DVD players as they dont have amplifiers. I am very much confused on what to buy. Which 5.1 system will give best quality sound with good amplification?

Or should i buy a Separate amplifier?

Please let me know.

Suggest me some good model. 5 k to 6 K or below.

  1. You want separate components for any kind of quality sound. Compared to almost any separates Creative speakers are junk.

Here is another way to look at it. If you picture a yardstick with junk at one end and the best possible sound at the other end "computer" speakers (including Creative) are on the low end of the scale from about half an inch up to maybe 3 inches. HTIBs go from 2" up to 9". Separate components are from 6" up to about 1'6". And high end audio is about 1'3" up to 3'.

If you want to educate yourself about home theater I'd suggest you start hanging out at a few of the many forums for Audio/Video equipment such as Home Theater Shack or AVS forum. You can also check out manufacturer web sites and retail sites. Another resource are AV magazines and their web sites.
