Question:

Speaker wire connection?

I saw a sound system that had 3 speaker connections going to one terminal in a transformer, but it wasn't a standard speaker cable. The cable was coming from the speakers, of course, but there were 5 speakers connected together. Please explain this to me clearly, because I don't understand it.

  1. Hi, the system you saw is most likely a system which has a CROSSOVER. The cross over splits the normal sound signla into three bands of sound. High frequency, mid frequency and low frequency. The speaker box would then have 3 seperate speaker horns designed to optimise each frequency. Hope this helps.
