Speakers for my Laptop?

Question

So I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop and I was wanted to get some nice speakers to enhance the horrible quality of sound that comes out of the computer by itself. I have a set of speakers to a cd stereo from like 5 years ago that are really big and are the type where to connect them to the player you insert the wires into the clamp-like things with the the same color. I hope this makes sense but anyways I was wondering if you can buy some kind of adapter to get this to hook up to my laptop.
