some of you well say i am underpowering the component but i dont

believe underpowering make the speakers clap its all depand on th gain

in fact iam worry (if underpowring effict sq or not?)

because all what i care about is SQ in the 1st place

and for the subwoofer i desided to go with alpine

swr-1242d but the watt of the sub was not clear

is it 500w+500w and each coil have a lode of 4 ohms or

is it 250w 4ohm + 250w 4ohm coils???

  1. I dont know but get some w/o or w/3

  2. Each sub is 500 watts RMS, that would be 250 watts RMS per voice coil since that is how your looking at it. You would need a 1000 watt rms amp to drive those subs to capacity though. The speaker choice is all up to you though. Me personally, I would go with the Polk speakers as they have silk dome tweets.

Under powering them is only going to not let you run them at their peak performance is all. Some will say that it will hurt your subs, but they need to learn about what they are talking about. You gain is not a volume though. That should be set to match the preamp out voltage.

JL audio, for the last time: THERE IS WAY BETTER OUT THERE THAN JL, AND I MEAN WAY BETTER!!!!!
