the speakers in my car aren't bad or anything, i have a 2007 focus, but my music has a lot of bass in it and it kinda sounds crappy when it beats. if i get new speakers, like some 6x9's, will it improve how that sounds?

  1. Yes, stock ford speakers are made out of basically thin cardboard, where as after market ones are made out of synthetic plastic and will give better sound and bass. I don't know if the focus's came with 6x9s but if you go to crutchfield.com it will tell you the exact size that will fit in your car, and there usually pretty reasonable on prices.

  2. 6x9's would give you more bass if you want good quality get 4 way speakers

  3. Hi, i have a set of the premium sound 6x9's for $50 shipped to your door. That will be a major improvement. I also have any other part of the FORD JBL premium system you may need. Let me know if interested, sold many on Ebay.

  4. yea stock speakers normally will get distorted at high volumes. aftermarket speakers do way better at those same volumes. 6x9's will give you the most bass from speakers. if your looking for speakers for a decent price go look at the alpine type S speakers

  5. any speaker that is less than 8inches is not really made for bass, new speakers will make it sound a little better but not by much

when you look for some replacement speakers look for ones with the lower frequency response (the lower the better if you want bass)

i recommend using some bass blockers also so you don't mess them up (you could try the bass blocker on the factory speakers first to see if you still want to replace them)

bass blockers protect your speakers from bass distortion and let you enjoy cleaner sound (stops speaker distortion caused by excessive bass relative to speaker capability.)  http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/G...
