I have 4 speakers in my car, they all work when I play the radio but whenever I play my ipod using the auxiliary input then the 2 speakers on the left side of the car dont play. What do you think the problem could be?

  1. Heres the deal:

Count the number of bands seperated by little plastic strips on the tip of the cable you are using.

There are probably 4 on your cable.

You need one that has only 3.

You are using a cable that is for video feed as well and you shouldn't.

  2. Sounds like a problem with the iPod cable. It shouldn't be a problem with your head unit if it plays music the correct way without the iPod, so it's safe to assume it's something with the iPod system. Since the head unit gets a stereo signal (left and right) from the iPod, and the left side doesn't work there is most likely a bad connection. It could be:

    A faulty cable

A bad connection to the iPod

A bad connection to the auxilliary input on the head unit

Clean all the connections with a Q tip and alcohol or something similar. Make sure everything is plugged in all the way. If this doesn't work, you might need a new cable.

  3. If its an iphone then u need some sort of converter or something.  my friends iphone only plays out the left side of my car too.  He said theres some converter he was told he would need

  4. Maybe your stereo is not programed to play when you have this connected...also check your amp(if you have oNe) and see that all the channnels are hooked up.

  5. usually the plug being used. cheaper ones don't connect adequately with the plug hole provided in the stereo.  Wiggle the plug some or tape it in the best place that works, or try a better quality cable.
