Speakers stuttering?

i woke up today to find that when my music gets loud enough, the main speakers 'stutter'. Going in and out of sound constantly. They have never done this before and it only occurs when music is loud. Please help

P.s- they are stereo speakers, not computer

  1. If you are listening at a level that has not had this problem before, check the bass setting and make sure the 'loudness' button is turned off.


  2. Your over driving them. Either turn down the volume or get speakers that can handle the power your putting in. If you want really loud, you may have to replace the amp as well. If it's a lower powered (or cheap) amp it may put out too much distortion at higher volume levels. Distortion can blow speakers faster than over-powering them.
