Question:

Speakers to use in a TJ Wrangler

I just recently purchased a 98 Wrangler and the current speakers just aren't cutting it. It's got a sound bar with brand new 6.5" pioneer speakers ($35 at walmart, not great) and a set of smaller speakers in the front. I currently have to have the bass set at -3 because the back speakers thud if there is any bass whatsoever. They're brand new so I know they aren't blown. Any suggestions for speakers or speaker location to improve the sound quality in my Jeep? Thanks!

  1. interior speaks should only produce highs (voice) and if there is bass tuned in them   the more distorted they will sound  i suggest U tune the bass down(from the radio and increase the treble it'll sound better at higher vol.   and is there still a factory radio in the car?...if so maybe an after-market radio will help,,,go back to walmart(smile) and get a pioneer radio the settings of those radios are good,,,

  2. i have an 04 wrangler, i put in dynomat inside of the speaker pods (soundbar) and that helped quite a bit, also try buying a pair of infinity speakers for the front (check the second web page) those sound pretty awesome in my jeep (make sure you get the adapter when you get the speakers), hope this helps

    (04 wrangler, 4.0L, stock stereo, Infinity - 4" x 6" 2-Way (front) and Infinity - 5-1/4" 2-Way (rear))
