Speaking Of Which confident to continue good record over good surfaces
The legendary trainer D. K Weld’s bay colt, Speaking Of Which, has delivered three epic performances under the star jockey, Pat Smullen, since debuting in March 2012. Thus, there is no reason to doubt on the novice runner’s momentum ahead of the KPMG Enterprise
Stakes (Group 3) (Registered as the Kilternan Stakes) that he will run at Leopardstown today.
The three-year-old rookie runner has grabbed two classic victories over good surfaces, and he is keen to continue this streak by winning Saturday’s high-profile contest over 1 mile and 2 furlongs.
In the line-up of half a dozen runners, the confident colt seems to be the strongest and he will surely complete his hat-trick without facing any tough competition.
The brilliant Irish sprinter debuted on March 25 and finished as the runner-up in Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 3yo Maiden. After the race, that took place at Curragh, many sport analysts predicted a promising future for the colt.
The son of Invincible Spirit out of Suitably proved his class again by winning the Best Dressed Lady & Gent 3yo (C & G) Maiden at Cork on April 7. He was the 6-4 favourite for that race.
The maverick sprinter bagged his second success at Curragh when he ran the Airlie Stud Gallinule Stakes (Group 3) on May 27.
During the last three months, Speaking Of Which continuously remained in drills. At the moment, he is packed with enthusiasm and form that will easily take him to the brink of success.
Under the same jockey, the young runner will earn third straight success in today’s marathon. None of his rivals can even think of impeding him.
The runner-up spot in the race will go to Alla Speranza who started her career with a grand victory in October 2011. Since then, the J. S. Bolger trained grey filly has been struggling badly. However, she seemed to be somewhat confident when she finished
second in her last outing named as Vincent O'Brien Ruby Stakes (Listed Race).
By and large, the contest is going to be thrilling enough. The Weld’s fans are eager to see his pupil sizzling. Let us enjoy the party.
