Question:

Speaking of evolution and the missing link, what will mankind be in 1-100+ million years if we are still here?

If man/woman kind survives the next million+ years and if evolution is correct, and we have "changed" somewhat since the monkey's, what will we look like? will all other living things that we are training become our present day intelligence? could Darwin/others and the mutation theory then finally be proven correct over religion?

  1. We will be hair-less and the size of our brain would have been increased resulting a more bigger skull than today's average size to chest it. most of the people will be brown in colour and colour of eyes would have turned to black or brown. Average height would have been increased and life span will be 120 years on average. This is what would be the natural course of evolution. But the most controlling factor is not an evolution, it is the science and technology of tomorrow. By the end of this century we would have been mastered in genetic engineering and would be able to syncronise the human body with nano machines. Thus, it is not evolution but a science that will be a deciding factor of the shape and nature of tomorrow's homosepians. Tomorrow belongs to CYBORGS and DESIGNED BABIES.

  2. I thought evolution/natural selection has already been accepted over religious views. Am I missing something here?

We will be just a head with all the other functions taken care of by machines.

  3. Why is this same question asked again and again?  It is unanswerable unless the asker can describe an environment that he sees the earth moving towards that will challenge our biology as it is today and then excuse the possibility that we would probably intervene with technology to combat that environmental change and allow evolution to follow a course acceptable to the proposed change in environment.  This question is asked again and again and it is irrelevant again and again!  If we are just playing with hypotheticals, then at least propose the hypothetical environment that is going to cause selective pressure!

  4. If we can continue to basically control our environment, then nothing.  We will be the same.  Except color wise, we will probably all be a kind of brown color, but that will happen irregardless (the causcausion gene is weaker and they are less numerous than their darker counterparts.).  As far as other adaptations, who can say?  It would all depend on the environment.  If we stay on earth, then it would probably be something that has to do with processing carbon dioxide, etc.  If we go live in space, nothing.,

  5. Pink fleshy skinny weak and whiny.

  6. The earth will not stand that long.  We as humans and other species of animals as well change over time.  That is all evolution is-change over time.  The missing link is what it says it is-MISSING!  We were created by God to be a part of His Plan and Purposes.

  7. I honestly don't think our earth will survive another million years.

  8. First off, we did not evolve from monkeys, though we do share common ancestry.

We will look differently to say the least, for we are continuously evolving.  However, it is almost impossible to predict what will happen.  Mutations are random, and natural selection is not the only agent of evolution (there is also gene flow, genetic drift, and possibly more that we have not yet discovered)..

We are training animals, but DOES NOT AFFECT THEIR DNA, AND THEY THEREFORE DO NOT PASS THIS KNOWLEDGE TO THEIR OFFSPRING.  Most likely other animals will not evolve to our intelligent.  Do NOT fall for the common misconception that evolution is about improving.  It's not.  It's simply the change in allele (gene) frequencies.

Finally, to your last question, fundamentalist Christians will never accept evolution, not even when our species have shown a vast change.  I know this because they deny the vast amount of evidence that has already been discovered.  "It is the devil testing our faith"....

  9. Evolution explains diversity, that is, how all these species came to be as they are (natural selection acting on random mutation).

It no where says that all species continue to evolve.

There have been many species that have been stable for really long periods of time.

There's no reason to assume we will be any different in the future than we are now.

Given how widespread and successful we are, I'd say there's muchr reason to think otherwise, physically. The biggie now has to do with cultural change, not our looks.

It's pretty likely we'll be much more racially mixed, with relatviely few, if any, people being obviously descended from only one continent.

There's no reason to think that any other species will develop our sort of intelligence.

We certainly aren't breeding for that trait.

Evolution has nothing to say about religion, except that what's described in creation myths are not literally, scientifically accurate.

Most religious people see no conflict between religion and science.
