im only 15 at the moment but am looking at a career in the army, maybe as a sniper. Im interested in spec ops kinda stuff like sneaking around using the scope, that kinda stuff. I wanna sorta do the more strategic, stealthy kind of thing that spec ops guys are made to be portrayed as.

My question is how do i get to be one of these guys and what do they do (both the Special forces and sniper)

  1. Dosen't happen Snipers roll as infantry men and and pull out their rifle for Counter snipe, Reconissance, and unit security. If you want to be Delta, go Ranger, and as many schools as possible, just to get selected plus 4 years of experince in Army.

  2. First be sure to graduate from high school. After that join the Army and choose 11x with option 40. This is the Airborne Ranger contract and it will set you up for huge success later in your career as you attempt to get into either SFAS (Special Forces Assessment and Selection) or Delta Selection. Sniper training can be done as well.

  3. Here is what you do:  Enjoy your childhood, be a teenager, have fun .. but stay out of trouble. Why?  Because that DUI or arrest you may get as a teenager can and will come back to kick you in the tail if you want to be in Special Operations (gotta have a security clearance).

Stay healthy, eat well ... keep in shape, stay away from drugs. Why?  Again, security clearance as well as the physical shape you need to be in for most SOF (Special Operations Forces) programs.

Make good grades, study and be dedicated. It takes a lot of dedication and mental discipline to be in Special Operations. Train your mind now. No matter what you're doing, do the best you can at it. Most SOF guys are Type A personalities that refuse to settle for second best.

Educate yourself on the military. Go to Amazon.com and research military books on Special Operations, learn the correct terms, differences in each unit. Mostly because it's just interesting stuff for you, but it can help you make better decisions later if you still decide you want to be in the military.

    Be responsible, respectful and mature.

If you do those things, you'll be more ahead than most kids are when they go to sign the enlistment papers.

  4. Okay, you're 15 and you want to be a "RAMBO" as do most of the boys your age. It just sounds like so much fun! It takes a lot of intestinal fortitude to become a sniper. If the military let everyone who wanted to be a sniper have that MOS there wouldn't be any cooks. You can't get into any of that training for several years after your initial enlistment so for now study hard and give all the pretty girls a kiss.
