  1. It's not just chevy.  Alot of manufacturers make flex fuel vehicles, which can run on gasoline or E85.  E85 is 85% ethanol made from corn.  It is clean, renewable, and made in America.  It is priced cheaper than gasoline as well. It is available in most states.  The first link below will show you where you can purchase it. Click Find E85 Near Me at the top of the screen. 2. GM calls their new vehicles that will run on E85 (85% ethanol, 15% gasoline) flex fuel vehicles.  These vehicles can run on regular gasoline or E85 or any mix of the two.  Ethanol is a bio-fuel (a fuel derived from plants) instead of a petroleum based fuel that is pumped from the ground as oil then refined.  Bio-fuels are considered more friendly to the environment because the carbon dioxide given off by the fuel is counteracted by the carbon dioxide used to grow the plants to produce the fuel.  Actually E85 compatible vehicles have been produced by GM since about 2000.  You can find a list of the GM cars that will run on it at:

If you want to find a list of stations that provide E85, you can find them at:

I think all three of the US automakers make E85 compatible cars, however I don't think any of the foreign car makers currently sell any cars in the US that are E85 compatible.

Make sure to check your owners manual or the area around where you fill up your car to see if it is E85 compatible.  You do not want to run E85 in your car if it is not compatible.  From what I understand (not totally sure about the rubber thing), ethanol can eat away at rubber parts.  So if your car's fuel lines contain rubber parts the ethanol can eat away at it.  Then that dissolved rubber can go into your engine and mess it up.  Also the engine of compatible vehicles have sensors that detect the ethanol.  If your car does not have these sensors it will not adjust for the amount of ethanol and will not be nearly as efficient when it runs the ethanol.

  3. Flex fuel vehicles are cars/ trucks/ tractors that can run on Gasoline, 85% Ethanol, or any combination thereof.  Ethanol in the US in vary few locations.  Like 1-2 dealers per state along the coasts, and more populous in the farming states.  I think Il, and Oh are the big areas if I remember.

  4. look for the yellow gas pumps handles. sells cheaper but burns faster .check the mileage its less

  5. The answers you have already gotten are excellent, and I suggest you look at the links they offered.

I have a 2003 Dodge Caravan flex fuel vehicle; which can burn - as you now know! - E85, as well as unleaded gasoline.

My mileage suffers somewhat - 2 to 4 mpg less on average - burning E85, as opposed to straight gasoline; but E85 is 35-55 cents less per gallon where I live, so I still come out ahead in my wallet.
