My sister wants all black contacts...abou how much can I expect to pay for her to get them?

Do I have to go to the eye doctor for them, or can I buy them directly from a distributor?

  1. If she doesn't need prescription ones, i.e. has fine eyesight, then you don't need to go to an eye doctor. You can get them off the internet, but they're not cheap!

  2. Your sister needs to be fitted for contact lenses by an eye doctor.  Contacts, even cosmetic ones, are considered medical devices and require a prescription from an eye doctor.  Really it is to make sure the contacts won't harm the eyes.  You may be able to find contacts online or at markets, but they can be irritating and even damaging if they are not the right fit.  Also, she needs to learn how to take care of them and store them properly.  They will need solution and a case.  I suggest talking to an optometrist about it.  :)  Sorry, I don't know how much they will cost.

  3. DO NOT  listen to the person who said you do not need to go to an eye doctor, as the first person said, they are medical devices and need to be properly fit to reduce the chances of infection, ulcers, or serious damage to the cornea. Your eyes are not something you want to play around with, you only get one set!
