Special Dark Lense for putting on camcorder?

I am making a movie and I have heard that instead of shooting your footage during night you can buy a special lense to put on your camcorder so that you can shoot during the day, but it will look dark like night. Is this true?? And if so where can I get one?

You can use a blue filter, but it's not very effective on its own.  You'll need to experiment with the white balance and exposure time in the camcorder.  Some video editors have a night effect already - that might be the easiest and most effective.
