Special Report: Michael Schumacher – Life besides Formula 1
It has been nineteen years since Michael Schumacher made his debut in Formula 1.Ninteen years of countless interviews and seven world titles. It is quite difficult to find something new about the seven-time world champion as we already know almost everything
about him. However, Michael decided to reveal some secrets to the official Formula 1 website in an interview. Michael is not a boring person after all and even though we knew that he was a fun loving person, he is interested in many things we never expected.
Michael Schumacher is the best driver statistically in the history of Formula 1 and it seems that he will stay on the statistical charts of the sport for a long time. Michael has broken more records than any other driver in the history of the sport. However,
Michael is the most controversial driver in the history of Formula 1 as well, as many critics and professionals stated that he has been able to win these titles only because of the fact that his team Ferrari used to favour him over his teammates and gave him
more preference. One cannot disagree with these accusations as he has been very dependent on his team’s help and is just a good driver. Schumacher is one of those drivers who give the best performance on track, only if they are provided with a good car that
suits them.
Therefore, Michael is not a “Plan B kind of guy”. He sets a goal for himself and then follows it without any secondary quests. The German is interested in skydiving besides Formula 1 these days and looks forward to seeing his engineers the most before a
race weekend when the teams arrive at the paddock.
Michael claims that his dream date is also his dream come true, that is Corinna. The last movie that made Michael cry was Slumdog Millionaire. Well that is quite a waste, a movie made in India portraying well educated beggars made him cry. That is a pity. Schumacher
used to be afraid of heights but after skydiving, not anymore. The last book the seven-time world champion read was something from Samuel Beckett. Michael claims that he is very bad at remembering the titles of books and movies.
Michael loves to drink a glass of red wine and smoke a cigar if he wants to relax. Michael is not afraid to dye his hair and he might do that sometime soon.
Now this is the best thing that Michael said, the first CD he bought was an LP by some hard rock or metal band. That is the way to go Schumi. Michael only has temporary tattoos and piercings and was never a good student in school. Schumacher did not have
any heroes when he was a child. Michael thinks that he the guilty pleasures he is involved in are Cigars, Poker, but he does not feel guilty about them.
The German driver loves collecting watches and misses his family the most when he is on the road. Michael has had many “bad buys” in his life and couldn’t think of anything specific. Schumacher loves his coffee with hot milk and loves a long breakfast with
his family on a non-race Sunday morning.
The first car Michael ever drove was a Fiat 500 and drove a lot of karts before that. The seven-time world champion, always full of humour said that we all know how many embarrassing mistakes he has made, so we can choose any one of them as his most embarrassing
mistake.
Schumacher loves to cook Italian pasta the most and the last time he got really furious was when he crashed into the rear of David Coulthard’s Mclaren, while he was leading a very wet Belgian grand prix. Coulthard was a lap down and blamed Schumacher for the
incident. And yes, he Coulthard did the right thing as Michael hit the rear of his car and that was not called for.
