I want to make a special day for my two-year-old son. It's not his birthday. I just want it to be fun and special. Something he will get a kick out of. By the way, this is my only child. Any suggestions?

  1. if he likes to play at the park, do a picnic day there

if he likes playing in the water find a water park with a good toddler section

if he like animals find a petting zoo or farm

the best day for him is one that incorporates his favorite activities

  2. For a two year old, I think less is best. They can get overstimulated at museums. amuzement parks etc.,and become very cranky fast, and then the tantrums begin. Just having mommy's undivided attention is all they want. Your best bet would be to go to the beach or park. Bring some sand toys, and pack a picnic. For a special treat, stop and get some ice cream on the way home.

They just love spending time with mommy.

  3. I would deffinitly have to agree with Tati's answer. You want it to be all about your son so do what he wants to do. Pool, park, water park, zoo, if you have a butterfly house near you thats fun for kids. Kids museum is fun to,

  4. With my son at that age we went everywhere. Go to the zoo or the beach. I think the key to making a great day for him is to let him dictate the speed and direction of the day. He might want to ride the zoo train over and over or sit and watch the polar bears for awhile. Don't rush him.

My son, even at two, like to sit back and observe things. If your son is more a climber and runner, take him to a new play park or water park. Or a hands on kids museum. Once again the key is to let him take his time.

  5. I have a 2 year old daughter and I know she would love a day that was interesting and full of things she never gets to do.

She would love a Zoo or animal park.

    She loves going to waterparks.

She loves going to the beach.

She loves, loves, loves ice cream.

She likes to go camping and roast marshmallows.

    She loves riding a train.

She loves going to the park and playing on the swings/slides.

She loves spending time with her family.

Have fun...as long as you spend time with him he will think it's a very special day!

  6. Do you have a bounce house place around where you live?  A Children's Museum?  Is you local library having summer programs (a magic show, storytime)?  Whatever you do, make sure the day ends with an ice cream cone in a park (a sunset would be good too, but I don't know when your child's bedtime is).
