Block design is a subtest on many intelligence tests that tests visuospatial and motor skills. The testee is required to take blocks that have all white sides, all red sides, and red and white sides and arrange them according to a pattern. They are timed on this task and compared to a normative sample.

  2. At my school, we give the Beery-Buktenica Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration, also referred to as the VMI.  This is a developmental test of visual motor integration in which several geometric designs are presented for the child to reproduce.  This test is scored for the number of errors in the examinee's drawings of the designs.  This number is compared twith the number of errors made by children of the same age.  We give this test to our students for initial evaluations and reevaluations (every 3 years).

  3. In Texas it's the WISK and yes, it's still given.
