  1. Interesting!  I have been a special ed teacher for 29 years and I have never heard this acronym before.  Every state has different names, initials for the same things:  LD-PCD-SLD for example.

    Now I know.


  2. Severe and profound handicapped?  These are the students with the least mental development.   Some of them never pass the newborn level of development.  Others progress to the toddler years.  Most have another condition - autism, physical impairments, blindness, hearing loss, etc.

  3. I am guessing you are asking what SPH stands for. In the special education work, it means severely and profoundly handicapped.
