  1. i don't know if this website is helpful ,but you can try it.

you should be getting dla( disability living allowance ) or child benefits ,theres some more but you'll have to do some research.

i have a firend with a disabled child and she gets so many different money for the child's needs.she also gets help with his nappies ,she used to do what you are doing now, and now she gets a whole load of pampers every 2 months.all the best !!

  2. Apply for a Disablity living allowance.

  3. Hi there ...my son Thomas is nine now and he has severe autism, we had a long tough battle for the nappies too it was only thanks to my sons school who got them for us, as far as i am aware a child will only be given free nappies once the statementing process is complete as they will have to make sure as to what your sons disability or problem is, i would suggest contacting your social services department and talk to them there

  4. Hi.

The local authority SHOULD be providing you with pads.

Find out who your local community paediatric nurse is and ask her for asisstance with this situation.  She should be able to organise deliveries of pads for you.  I'm afraid sometimes, as you found out with your fight for 'statementing,'  it is he who shouts loudest who gets served.

Failing this, threaten to deliver your son's soiled clothes to your paediatrician.  That should do it.

Here is a website you may be interested in for your son's needs.

  5. Hello,

That is awful. My son also has Special needs-children are eligible for free nappies from the age of 4.

I have just put in request for ours as my son is 4 next month.

You need to get in touch with a local health visitor, they fill in the forms to request them.

Apparently they only allow you 4 per day though!

Do you have a Disabled Childrens service locally you could contact?

Also try Contact A Family, they are really helpful and will give you lots af advice.

    Hope this helps

Let me know how you get on

  6. I have a daughter the same age as your son although she has autism. She still wears nappies and I was spending a fortune on Pampers. Then through word of mouth I found out our local Primary Care Trust has a continence service. It is mainly used by old people but when I enquired they said if my daughter was over 5 years old and still incontinent they could provide nappies free of charge. These nappies are delivered once a month to my house and they send enough to use 6 a day. Ring your local PCT and ask for their continence service and then explain your situation, they should also provide pull-ups and pads if he needs them. Good luck and keep fighting to get your sons needs met.
