Special or cheap fares to India in Jun-July timeframe ?

Hi,

I have plans to visit India in July-Aug time, this year. As this is my first trip to India, I am a little confused about the airfares.

We have different travelagents such as makemytrip, and others , who keep telling about upcoming special fares. Is there a thing called special fares? And if yes, why are they not listed in the airways's main sites? And when can we avail of them , is it 3 months before the travel?

What I understand from this airfare drama is as below:

let us say there are 100 economy class seats for a particular plane. The airline allocates these seats into different classes like Q-class fare say 750$, K-class fare say 900$ and so on.. Now, few of these are kept with the airlines and remaining allocated to travel agents (directly or thru a wholeseller). Depening on the demand for that plane, they keep shuffling the seats. You may check with any travel agent, and ideally if you are first few to make your booking you might get a less fare. 3 months is a ideal time frame but check with your agent.

Also, note that if you travel on working day during the day, the fare might be less. Weekends is usually high.

i may be wrong with the above statistics and it more or less works the same way.

Edit: Sometimes airlines also release a special fare, but it has lot of restrictions...

i recommend you book it online airindia, jet, british, virgin- those are the best. book from these if you choose travel agent

anyway sorry I know nothing about air fares lolz but I went to India through Luftansa air thing
