Special school design? are you in favor of padded walls?

okay i am designing a special school and i have a thought of putting padded walls, that is a plain white but there are some extruded portions of different color,.

that is beacause some children with autism does head banging..

so do you think this is a good solution?

No, I don't.  When a parent sends their special needs child to school, they don't want it to look like a mental health hospital.  They want the school to provide a safe environment for children to grow and learn, not a place where students are locked away and allowed to bang their heads.  Personnel who deal with autistic children know how to handle these situations without the use of padded walls.  The color idea is fine, but remember different colors ellicit different emotions.  

    Bright colors and going to excite students.  Muted and pastel colors are going to calm students.  Warm colors can make people hungry, and cool colors are going to calm.
