Question:

Special / unusual London restaurant for 21st bday?

Any ideas where to take my sister for dinner for her 21st? She is a bit of a fussy / plain eater and all the posh restaurants I have looked at eg Oxo Tower are a bit too fancy and she won't like anything on the menu. The Ivy have said no chance to a table for 6 people so I need somewhere a bit special or unusual that still serves fairly plain normal food...

  1. Jamie Oliver's restaurant.

  2. In Kings road there is a quirkly italian restuaraunt called the Jam the tables and benches are on the ceiling, you have to climb up a scaffold pole to sit up there and they climb up to bring your food, the food is really good typical italian and the atmosphere is great it is just up the road from the bluebird on the opposite side of the road.

  3. I dont know if shes likes Japanese food

    but if she does,

go to Cocoon in Picadilly circus- GREAT atmosphere and food is amazing- have all the good japanese food like chicken and beef but done veryyyyyy well. YUM.

  4. For something different try Spur that is in Wandsworth, this is a steak house hich has a sort of South African theme (5 Star in my opinion).

Then there is Nandos, which is portugese, this is really good but not very unusual.

Then if you wanna go fancy, got to the Gordon Ramsay restaurant, this could cost you a minimum of £110 per person.

There is a rainforest restaurant, which is really weird to eat at, but serves really good food.

    Planet Hollywood to go American.

And then Garfunkels for an ordinary meal.

    Hope you enjoy your choice!

  5. The Skylon is part of the  South Bank centre. It's got sensational views over the Thames. The place is split into the restaurant and the grill - the food in the grill is much plainer. The bar's lovely too

Christopher's is a typical upmarket US-style grill. A lot of the food is quite plain - steaks, seafood etc. The atmosphere is really special, I think.

If she is into her steak then she can choose the cut of meat etc and add a sauce if she likes.
