Specialized Hardrock Pro Vs. Trek 4500 vs Trek 6500? Which one?

-How much is the Hardrock Canadian, I can't seem to find the price anywhere?

PS:

I know there's quite a price gap between the 4500 and 6500, but I'm kinda leaning towards the Hardrock anyway.

And I don't intend to do much crazy mountain biking or jumps etc. It's mainly for commute and trail riding. I'm upgrading from a 93 Schwinn Woodlands (don't laugh, :P), so yeah...I can prob handle rough shifting; I'd just hope for something smoother than the shimano 2200s.

Thanks a bunch, :-)

Niles,

  1. Well, I can't really give you an honest answer considering that I can't fine a 6500 (I think they are out of production)... But anyway:

They are both made of aluminum, Both have gears (probably 24, I didn't check), the geometry is about the same, and they are about the same bike.

I personally would swing towards the Specialized Hardrock, it has disk brakes, and its made by Specialized (more reliable considering that they make great downhill bikes)

It should be between 700 and 500
