  2. The definition of reproductive isolation is that fertilization is prevented or fertilization results in sterile or dead/dying offspring (in which case, they *already* are a new species, via the common definition of species.)

    It's divided into pre-zygotic and post zygotic. A, B, and E are examples of Pre-zygotic reproductive isolation- mating does not occur.

    c is an example of post-zygotic isolation.-Mating occurs, but is unsuccessful.

    So, d is the best answer- but the important thing is to understand the definition of reproductive isolation. It's pretty simple, as things go- can't or won't mate, and if they do, produce infertile (can't produce offspring) or nonviable (don't live) offspring
