What do I do with an almost two year old, a six year old girl and a ten year old boy for a whole day? Specific ideas please!

I can't drive, they live near a park and we already played charades and watched a movie today.

  1. Make a 'treasure map' either in the back yard or at the park. Use treats or a game as the treasure.  Or make up an obsticle course in the park or back yard- using balls, hoola hoops etc

  2. Coloring books? Put in another movie? Have them make up stories or something...

  3. playdough, painting (if you don't mind the mess), maybe make no-bake cookies together, bubbles, sprinkler outside

I used to babysit 2 infants, a 2 year old and a 5 year old. They didn't know it, but I structured the day so that I knew what was going to happen all the time - for example, we had "breakfast time", "clean up time", "free play time", "book time", "video time".  I was always announcing a different "time".  Maybe you could find a time to focus on the 2 year old and let the older kids have free play and then switch up.

When I've subbed for 4th and 5th graders, they always liked mind benders and riddles.  He might also like doing paper mache, which takes a lot of time (and of course is messy), but it might keep him occupied while you find other activities for the little ones.
