  1. Not too long ago, there was a devastating earthquake in the region. It would be interesting and very relevant to document how the earthquake interrupted and affected the conflict and continues to affect the area today.

  2. You can write lot about Laddakh region of kashmir. It's beautiful around there.

  3. Harsh has got all facts wrong right from the word go. There were Hindus, agreed. But Islam spread in Kashmir through conversions. THere were no wars in Kashmir over religion - never. Then it was not that brutal Dogra ruler who agreed to Indian occupation. It was Sheikh Abdullah, a popular Muslim leader of National Conference... YOu should learn something Harsh.. Idiot!!

Well, for your research it would be interesting to do that on the current leadership of Kashmir. The people who are considered the front runners of Independence movement. Comapre and contrast them and their personal beliefs with the freedom strugglers of Other states in history.

THis is a highly defining point in History of Kashmir - its weak leadership.

  4. ok, berief summary

Before the region was all Hinduism who 'd been living there peacefully for thousands of years.  muslims came with typical of their thing they slaughtered thousands most of them, muslim majority, the remaining Kashmiri pundits were driven out of the valley.  When india got freedom, the king of kashmir was still hindu ruling over muslim majority, he chose to side with india.  kashmir divided in half, pakistan got a big chunk, india got a chunk, china attacked and took a huge part of india's kashmir.
