  1. Probuly no one it will probuly let off some wierd gases and cause some wierd diseases in the long run. No one can really predict what any of this wayste in our land fills will do.

  2. There are two types of biodegradable plastics. One made from oil-based plastic which is broken down by the combination of sun and oxygen etc. The advantage of oil- based plastics that are biodegradable are not great because they will not break down in the land fills. The starch based type of plastic products are made from plant materials and are a win-win situation to everyone. These plastics can be added to the compost pile and kept out of the land fills altogether. They can make use of plant byproducts like potatoes and sugarcane without adding carbon to the ecosystem. They remove the danger to wildlife on the land and in the water.

  3. Biodegradeable plastics will benefit millions of people, animals, and the rest of earths inhabitants for that matter. Traditional plastics take nearly 200 years to break down into dirt size particles that dont cause harm to the earth, while biodegradeable plastics break down in the matter of a week to a year, all depending on the quality of the plastic. If the plastic degrades faster there is less of a chance that an animal of some sort will have the chance to attempt to eat it or become entangled by it. So biodegradable plastics will benefit many people whose business are based on garbage free land and water, such as farmers , who depend on clean and helathy soil and water, ranchers who depend on large expanses of grass free of garbage so they can feed there herds of whatever it is they may be raising, and  fisherman who depend on clean waterways so that they can spend more time fishing and less time freeing garbage from there nets. I could very well say biodegradeable plastics benefit all of our food sources, and they make the world a little cleaner which is more astetiacally pleasing.

  4. The whole world, including the manufacturers of biodegradable plastics.

    - kill fewer fish and birds

    - kill fewer kids in some cases.

    - less landfill

  5. First the suppliers of the raw materials will benefit from increased demand.

The people who make the plastics and those who make the containers out of the new plastics will also have more work.

Consumers may or may not benefit, depending on how well the new plastic works with existing filling and handling equipment.

And the world will benefit from trash that will naturally rot instead of laying around (or floating around in the ocean) for a long long time.

However there is a big question about "biodegradable" vs recyclable plastics.  Do we want stuff that will "rot" in a landfill or stuff that we can recycle and cut our demand for oil.
