Question:

Speech Impediment ?

i feel like i may have some kind of speech impediment, when i talk it's hard for me to sometimes pronounce my words.. i'm a great reader and writer so it has nothing to do with not being able to read the word or how it should be pronounced. my sister has dyslexia and our speech is really similar, i feel like she has the same problem as i do when trying to talk. it's as though when i talk i don't move my tongue correctly if that makes any sense. when i talk i kinda keep my tongue in one place but when saying different words it should be going all over your mouth haha. my words kinda have like a babyish sound to them.

does anyone know the different types of speech impediments and if this could be one? or if there is any way like online or something that could detect if this is one? i don't really want to go to any speech people to find out..

  1. I dont know maybe a lisp?

  2. Sometimes my tongue does that too. I don't know. I have a bit of a hard time with "Ths"

  3. i urge you to try to seek  a speech therapist. she or he can identify if what you believe/suspect is true or not. if so, they will then help you with your problem if you have one, give you speech exercises, ect.

speech problems are common, so dont be scared or embarrassed.

i had mini one back in middle school. all is well though.yay.
