  1. Wait 'til you get to college to worry about classes. After your first two years of standard lower division courses in college, you'll talk to your councelor about majoring in communications or linguistics. After you get your BA in such a subject, you have to go on to get a Masters (usually in communications). This is actually a three year masters program because of all the clinical work, units, and the fact that your teaching credential is built into it. Then you'll be qualified. In summary:

    Finish high school

Two years of general education in college

Two years of upper division communications based work in college

    Three years of grad work

Best of luck!! It's a highly rewarding occupation.

  2. i go to a university that offers this major, they take classes that focus on hearing, pronouncing words, parts of the ear and the mouth that aid in verbalizing. in high school you should take challenging science courses and math courses as well such as physics, chem, bios...just get a high gpa and youll get into the program!

    good luck!!

  3. Just take college prep coursework, and apply to a college/university that has it as one of its major programs.
