What do they do exactly I'm considering this career or a school psychologist.

do you need to know alot of math and science and chemistry to be successful in this career? Is it depressing..do they at least make much? Where do they usually work..?

  1. Speech-language pathologists in my school district do well..........they earn more than teachers but a higher degree is often required...........  Many schools districts have a great need for them.  Check out your area's school district to find out more

  2. SLPs will usually make good money, a master's degree is required for certification.  The amount of money made depends on the setting you work in.  SLPs that work in skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, rehab centers, and private practice will usually make more than the SLP that works in the school system...but the ones in the schools get summer off.  There is a good deal of science and math required to get certified.  I had to take physics, chemistry, biology, human anatomy, and one other science class along with 4 math classes.  I consider quite a few of the slp classes to be science-based, but these were much more interesting since they were actually concerned with what I was getting the degree in.

And it can be depressing, but also very rewarding at the same time.
