I am a Playgroup leader and find it difficult to make speeches to parents. We are having a Carol Service tomorrow and I would like to give a short speech. We will be finishing for the Christmas Vacation and Santa will be coming and the children will be singing some carols and there will be light refreshments for the parents and party food for the children. So Please help.

  1. How about something along the lines of.... Good afternoon Mams and Dads, boys and girls and welcome to our Carol service. The children are going to sing some festive songs for you and after that we are hoping for a very special visitor. There will be refreshments available (say where) after the service and before we commence I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you for you all coming today, for the children who make my job so lovely (even if you have to lie!!!) and to wish you a Very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.

  2. Well......why not get one or more of your children to make the speech.a simple Thank you for coming.....Santa is visiting us today.....and please join us for refreshments/

  3. Start off by thanking people for coming.

say how hard the children have been practicing their songs

Then tell people there will be refreshments after ,

finally wish everyone a Merry Christmas

  4. how about...

good morning ladies and gentlemen boys and girls and welcome to our very special carol service,no one else could make it even more special and exciting because the children are going to sing some of their favourite christmas carols,we also have a great suprise (santa).there are also some refrshments and food over there please feel free to go and get some (or buy if they have to) personally i would like to say during the festive season it's about spending some time with your family and may you all have a memorable and special christmas.

    hope this helps!

    merry christmas!
