  1. i think..there's something wrong on acting like a 30 yrs. old... what is good is act according to your age! and speak up with confidence, you may not know, maybe you'll be the best.

  2. It would help for you not to feel so intimidated by your peers.  Also, not to speak ill of them because you are intimidated (calling girls prissy, etc).  I'm sure that you got into the class because you are an intelligent person and needed the challenge of an AP class that a regular class wasn't giving you.  You can try practicing in front of a mirror to help with your eye contact.  Also, try practicing with your family or with friends.

  3. drink alcohol. you'll calm down. :) as for the speech when your done s******g up it's over. then you can get down to some serious drinking and hopefully you'll forget it the next day.

  4. anytime I ever had to get up in front of people I always pretended to be president or some one famous, just to ease the nerves. nothing to complicated the pretend every one is in their underwear is a good one. the best advice i can give you is to just becalm and have confidence you'll feel great after ward. i promise.

  5. Eh...

Pray to God....whatever God it may be.

Do your speech about 15 times in the mirror.

Don't drink caffeine or eat chocolate before your speech.

DO NOT make eye contact with anyone...always look at the foreheads when giving a speech.

Get up there and....talk....all speeches are is talking....Its your time to shine!

  6. You don't have to sound extremely smart in a speech. In fact, the more understandable it is to a common audience the better. It should feel like a poetic essay where you're speaking from the heart. If you have passion about what you're saying, you'll do fine. Just make sure to be audible and don't use any fillers (uh, um, like, etc.).

The scared feeling never goes away until you actually start speaking because at that point you should be so focused on what you're saying that you'll forget about being nervous. Until then, the best you can do is subdue/hide the feeling. Take a deep breath, and imagine that the air is filling your entire body with a feeling of calmness. Repeat all the tongue twisters you know before going into class. At home, read you're speech as slowly as you possibly can so you get into the habit of pacing (people tend to go to fast, so practicing it slowly will counter this). Also practice it with a loud voice on you're own. When you feel comfertable enough. practice with your friends and family.

Public speaking is mastered with experience, so if you're new to this, just remeber that next time it'll only get easier.

    Good luck :)

  7. Trust in yourself everyone gets stage fright with speeches.  I am a teacher and freak out when I have to give them.  Can you imagine having to teach 30 kids that are looking at you as the old lady.  I try not to focus on these fears.  Look through the crowd not at them.  They don't have any idea where you are looking.  Just move your head around once in awhile and pretend like you are looking but really look past all the faces and create a blur.  I even have trouble with the large words.  Write down your speech and use a thesaurus to get better word choices.  You are a lot smarter than you give yourself credit.

  8. I know exactly how you feel. I had to take a speech class this last semester, and it was my absolute biggest nightmare. I have social anxiety which I took medication for til I lost my insurance, so every class I would have to speak and would be stuttering and losing my train of thought and rushing through. BUT, I ended up getting an A in the class because I wrote my speeches and then practiced them over and over and over until I knew them by heart. I suggest you write your speech as early as possible, and practice reading it in front of friends, family, stuffed animals, anyone who will listen! Also, get to your class early if possible, and read through your speech in the front of the room before anyone gets there. Dont' worry about using "big" words, people just use crazy words to make themselves feel better sometimes, but it just looks silly, and it's not necessary! So long as your speech makes sense, it will seem intelligent, no big words needed. Good luck! Look up alliteration online to get the meaning, or ask your parents for help.

  9. Dont worry about what the class thinks. I know it is hard, but there are only 2 things that matter in a speech..

1 - Your content, if you have researched, and you have done what the teacher asked, you are on the track for a good mark

2 - Your speech, speak clearly, dont talk to fast, or two slow, try to raise your voice but dont yell. Pretend to make eye contact If you are really nervous looking at the class members may scare you more, so, look at their hair, their uniform, above their head.. as long as your teacher sees you trying, it is all good.

There are 2 peoples opinions that matter in that room, yours, and your teachers. If you are sure what you are saying is right, then it will show and your teacher will see it too:)

    Good luck!

  10. yea i have a few

    1. STOP LIEING

-you would know why even if you did just move up there

    - in any english class you would know grammer and proper word choice such as "underware" and "half yearlys" idk about you but the rest of the world calls them midterms and anyone in any english class would know how to spell underwear

    2. get a cleaner mind. the underwear trick is NOT a sexual thing its supposed to make you laugh like they forgot to get dressed today you know haha. think about it does it make sence that the only people who ever use it are teenage guys who are in a class where every single other person is a hot chick? or vice versa?

my biggest piece of advice is USE COMMON SENCE and THINK ABOUT THINGS
