  1. just relax, and pretend your'e just talking to a friend, not the whole class. that works for me, good luck.

  2. don't freak out! think about this.... everyone in your class wants to give their speech just as much as you do. and if it's just you by yourself make sure you know your subject matter backwards and forwards. that always gives me confidence and that way i feel better about what i'm about to do. i hope it goes well!

  3. I've been there. Heres the plan. Pick about three people in your audience (the teacher or the person next to him/her should be one of them) look at your paper so you remember what you need to say, look at the first person you chose and TELL THAT person what you have to say. Hold onto the podium if you need suport (most teachers allow that if you are going to fall down from the shaking). Then make sure you change people on each new thought or section. Try looking other people in the eyes as you move from one person to the next. Remember, they are in the same class you are in and they probably feel the same when they are in your place, they're not thinking about you or even what you have to say, they are thinking about what happens when it's their turn. Get their attention onto your subject and you've done a great speech. Best of luck :)

  4. Think to yourself: What are you afraid of?

If you're afraid of what people will think, you'll get a LOT more attention the shakier and more scared you appear.

If you are allowed to have a visual, make one so that not everyone's eyes will be on you.

Make sure to look good so there is not cause for anyone to laugh at you.

Never look directly into people's eyes. Just scan the room aimlessly, APPEARING as if you are. Scanning the back of the wall is a good idea.

You should be reading off your paper (or note cards) 50% at most and the rest looking at the audience.

Know it VERY well, almost to the point of memorization. Therefore if you stumble, if will know where you are without having to look down on your paper and find your place. Also know your material so that you can improvise if all else fails.

If you are REALLY scared of speaking in front of a group of people, take a public speaking class, a drama class, or join the play or speech team. You will need these skills in life.

    Hope that helped!

  5. Don't worry about speeches, they tend to be easier if you don't think about it alot. I am incredibly shy, and an awful public speaker, I shake a lot and I stutter time to time.

My tips are: look at the teacher when you have to make eye contact, or stare at the wall behind the person ahead of you. If you're worried about what people will think, you'll get more nervous, and in actuality, people are really bored when it comes to speeches! They most likely won't even notice the stuttering and blushing.

And if they are interested, they won't be judging you, I promise, they'll be attentively listening to the speech.

Practice a lot, maybe even memorize it, that guarantees safety from embarrassment over forgotten words! Also, make sure you drink water before your speech, it helps you articulate better and helps you avoid clearing your throat.

    Good luck! :)

  6. relax and be calm

try just to have fun and you will be great

look up when you talk and be confident

    good luck

  7. What i used to do is this; when you write your paper, put in little asterisks (*) every 12th word or so; that will be your cue to look up and make eye contact. But instead of looking people directly in the eyes; look at the bridge of their nose or right where their eyebrows meet. That never fails me. Run the speech over a couple of times out loud (sit in front of a mirror to see what you look like in your delivery).Remember to breathe.Don't rush, it will cause you to get flustered. i hope this helps
