Speed Camera Help!?

Question

I'm a rahter paranoid person and today I drove to my friends house on a route i was very unfamilar with. There were two speed cameras along the way a 30 and a 40mph.. alhtough im sure i did the right speed i've learnt that they are truvelo cameras and these cameras dont flash. Waiting 14 days will driv e me crazy! So anyone know the real facts on tehse cameras? Even if to put my mind at rest? Thanks x

you are correct -  truvelo cameras use infra red and do NOT need to flash to "nick" you

where you will find out all you need to know about UK speed cameras and also be able to download regular database updates for your sat nav

You should be ok, most speed camera's will tollerate 10% of the speed limit above (e.g. 40mph, up to 44mph) they usually give a bit of lee-way as some cars speedometres can be off and not all drivers can keep a steady speed. I would not worry about this, most speed camera's do flash, but if you feel you were going at the right speed (or 10% above) you have nothing to worry about.

Do the camera's measure you're avarage speed or just take pic without the flash, Truvelo is the company that makes the camera's, You do normaly have a good tolerance with all cameras typical about 10 mph above.

they measure your average speed between each camera,

if you were going at thirty when passing the first and then sped up then im sorry but you will get a ticket.

Its the "Specs" cameras that are connected and measure average speed. They are the type you will see particularly on motorway road works. I think if you are so paranoid about driving when  " I'm sure I did the right speed" do you really want to continue driving at all, what happens when you go through a traffic light that has a camera !!!!

They probably were not working, loads of these cameras aren't, so don't worry.
