Hey all

I recently got flashed by a speed camera at night, in a residential business park. It did not look like a police enforcement camera but more like a 'private' one that goes back to the Business park's control box.

I am pretty sure I will get a fine for this if it comes out, however can residential parks issue points on your licencse and if not whats the possibility it was a police camera?

  1. These are not 'private' cameras, but are run by the police. You will pay a fine, but since an officer did not witness your violation, you will not receive points. It shouldn't be a private one, since they don't have access to the database that contains state issued license plates.  They'd have no way to legally look you up and fine you.

  2. I think it'll just be a fine. They can't really enforce normal traffic rules, as their equipement will not have reached official government standards (I would imagine anyway).

    Also, it's on private property?

Good luck though, speed cameras are a bitchh.

  3. no they can't issue points a fine or points if it was a police camera it would be 3 points and a fine
