Speed Limit Posting Standards?

do they have a rule on how many times the speed limit can change within a certain mileage? For example, instead of having the speed limit change 25-35-25-35-25-35 within a half mile they would just post it once and make the whole section that limit. Whats the standard? 3 changes per mile?

This is for a straight section of road

  1. You need to check your state laws.

  2. As far as I know, there are no universal rules about changing speed limits.  The standards are determined by individual states or cities.  In your case, if the speed limit really does change several times within a 1/2 mile section of roadway, perhaps you should bring this up at a city council meeting and ask for some changes to be made.
