Speed Master looks favourite to win Handicap Hurdle Final – Sandown Preview
Speed Master is expected to unleash his utmost speed at Sandown racecourse on Saturday, March 10 and walk away with the prestigious title of European Breeders’ Fund Paddypower.Com “National Hunt” Novices’ Handicap Hurdle Final.
As the high-profile Grade 3 contest of 2m4f distance is set to start at 2:05 (GMT), the champion trainer Nicky Henderson-trained bay gelding seems to be quite ready to demonstrate his marvellous racing skills against his 17 potential rivals.
Speed Master’s competitors include Ambion Wood, Grove Pride, Dualla Lord, Aikideau, Moorland Sunset, Thanks For Coming, Off The Ground, Kings Lodge, Elsafeer, Gleann Eagas, Merry King, Same Difference, Thomas Crapper, Kuilsriver, Jumps Road, Carrigmorna
King and Presenting Ace.
Since making his debut in March 2011, Speed Master has been at the peak of his form. Interesting to note is the fact that the novice runner has lost only one out of his total five starts to date.
After finishing first by 1 length in his very maiden race, the six-year-old dashing horse went on to register a fabulous hat-trick during November-December 2011.
Owned by Walters Plant Hire Ltd, the brilliant sprinter has earned four favourite tags and £9,493 of prize money.
Speed Master’s outstanding success streak and excellent track record depict that the talented gelding possesses plenty of firepower which he is going to demonstrate at Sandown track today.
Henderson’s maverick pupil is supposed to carry forward his winning momentum coupled with unbeaten record and add another glorious triumph to his career chart. His chances to finish first in the race are as high as 97 percent.
Out of Speed Master’s competitors, Merry King and Aikideau seem to be tough enough, and each of the duo is likely to perform well.
Merry King is eying to complete the first ever hat-trick of his career by winning today’s mega event. After starting his career with a big victory in March 2011, the trainee of Jonjo O’Neill won two races in a row during January-February 2012. He was 5-4
favourite in his last outing.
On the other hand, Aikideau is also on a hat-trick. Richard Rowe’s bay gelding won a couple of consecutive races during the first month of the calendar year. He also ran for the last time as 5-4 favourite. He will surely struggle to complete his hat-trick
today.
Along with this duo, three other runners including Ambion Wood, Grove Pride and Elsafeer are also carrying immense form at the moment.
Thus, the final game is going to be a rip-roaring and aw-inspiring competition. The mega marathon will be packed with thrill.
Speed Master will have to pass through blood and fire in order to win. Let us get ready for the amazing action. Good luck to all the runners.
