  1. OK you got the measure....

Residentials are usually no more than 25MPH...School zones are the same, when children are present.

    Most city driving is 35-45MPH

    Most Highways are 55MPH- 80MPH

The kicker is the basic speed law. Which is "Do not drive faster than road conditions allow" and of course the ever famous "Follow the Flow of Traffic"

the average flow of traffic speed on a highway is about 5-10mph faster than the posted speed limit. Yes we're all speeding and can be written up for that but you can't get us all.

If it was raining early now it's sunny and bright, but the road is still a little wet, you CAN be ticketed for speeding if you are following the posted speed limit. If the officer feels that speed is unsafe for the road conditions. It usually doesn't happen, but everything is at the officers discretion.

  2. depends most residential streets are 25-35 mph, big streets 40-45 mph and streets in the middle of nowhere 50-60 mph

  3. Speed limits in the US are in mph, they may differ from state to state. In many states, the speed limit on highways is 55 mph (88 km/h). They are, of course, lower within city limits.

  4. We in the USA use MPH. It varies from local streets to highways!! Residential streets are 25-30MPH then the main drags thru town are 35-45!! Highways are 45min to 55 except in open areas it can be 70.

  5. its in miles per hour.  i think the US is the only country that uses weird metric system as told by my other friends from another country

  6. Speed limit here is in Miles per Hour.

The speed limit varies from each road type and special conditions.

School zones are either 25mph or 40mph.

    Residential zones are usually 25mph.

Rural and large roads are usually 55mph.

Dirt/gravel roads are always 55mph unless otherwise posted.

Highway/Freeways are 65mph to 75mph depending on the state.
