  1. Yes there is a speed of taste and smell. In fact they are very closly related.

  2. That has to do with with the chemical reactions on the tongue and in the nose.

In order to compare these properly you would have to ask: since there is a speed of VISION and a speed of HEARING, is there a speed of smell and taste too

  3. There is a speed for sound and light because they travel in waves. Smell and taste do not travel in waves, so no, there is not "speed" for those senses.

  4. The time it takes to process a sense once it has reached the person may not vary that much, may almost be immediate.

The speed of light and sound refers to the time it takes for them to travel to a person from a source.

Different smells may travel at different rates through the air to your nose depending on the gas.

  5. the speed of smell depends on how different gases interact. its true that u can smell some things sooner than others that are different temperatures. it depends on what the gases are and how fast they are moving

the speed of taste is how fast taste buds can send the message to neurons in your brain, which differs for different people.

    both very hard to measure

  6. this is probably the funniest question on YA (no offense). LoL

taste and smell are different then sound and light.

speed of light is the speed at which photons travel, 360k km/s.

speed of sound is the speed at which sound waves or vibrations travel. many airplanes travel faster than the speed of sound meaning you will see it before you here it, like the thunder/lightning.

smell are specific particles traveling through air and intercepted/ analyzed by a system near our noses. so the speed of smell is basically relative to the air flow.

taste is just chemicals analyzed by our tongues and interpreted by our brain, so i don't know what do you mean by speed of taste.

how about the speed of touch?
