Speed of harddisk. speed of hard disk is very slow down from last week i had'nt installed any type

speed of hard disk is very slow down from last week i had'nt installed any type of software or any type of data but i don't know how it happened please hel me out by this problem to icrease the speed of processing

It seems more exciting to watch paint dry, than to wait for some response from my 2 month old acer aspire 7720G. I send error reports to dear microsoft daily with no feedback as yet.USB and RAM apparently not overtaxed.I use laptop for word processing and internet searches, no games etc.
