Yesterday i got caught doing 105mph in a 60 (I-10 El Paso TX). the cop gave me a speeding ticket and one for unsafe lane changing. I was told i can only take defensive driving for the second one not the speeding. But what am wondering is what do you think the judge would do to me. If this help you i am 18 working full time at an Engineering Firm and a Part time college student at EPCC. I was driving a Red 08 cobalt racing a F-150 which didnt get caught .

  1. Be thankful the other guy got away You would be charged with auto racing too

  2. That was pretty stupid and you're lucky you didn't get killed or kill anyone else.  You will be hit with a  fine, get points on your license and  your insurance premiums WILL go up as much as 30% - 40% because you are a high risk to them.  Speeding ticket rates in Texas are $185.00 for 25mph over the speed limit. Above 25mph you have to contact the court. Some courts may also be allowed to add surcharges so the only way to know exactly is to contact the clerk of court.

If cited for two or more moving violations within 12 months, a teen is subject to a license suspension of 90 days to one year.

You might want to speak with a traffic attorney or call a defensive driving school and ask if their course will help you at all in court.  Honestly though, you do not belong behind the wheel and they should suspend your license.

  3. I have no idea what the judge will do, but before you kill yourself or someone else, do your racing on a track not on the Interstate.

  4. Most likely you will have your license suspended. Going 45 over the limit is waaayyy past where they cut off just giving you points.

  5. In Texas you might buy the farm, slow down and live.

  6. I'm surprised a Cobalt can go that fast.

  7. Generally, more than 25 mph over the posted limit is big bucks.  If you had a clean record prior to this, you may be able to avoid suspension---especially if you can prove to the court that you can't get to work any other way.  You may have restrictions on your license.  Don't race on public highways.  You endanger my loved ones (and yours, as well).  Good Luck.

  8. You need to have your a** kicked. Other people value theur lives  obviously alot more than you do. If you were to have killed a family of five, would it bother you?

    Use your brain dude!

I'm not some old guy telling you this either. I'm only 27. My friend David did what you did, and he killed a teenaged girl. He has to live with it for the rest of his life, and it bothers him alot.

You should just be thankful that you are not dead.

  9. no more DL for you.. sorry dude..

you're lucky if you do get to keep it.

  10. I sure wouldn't want to pay that ticket, you might even get a suspension for that one. Oh and just wait until your insurance company gets the report, 55 mph over the posted speed, an 18 year old male, and an unsafe lane change, you have probably just graduated to the realm of UN-INSURABLE!  Good luck.

  11. Heavy fine, community service and possible suspended license.

  12. numb-nut.

your license should be taken away permanently (it won't).  dumbasses like you shouldn't be allowed on the streets.

    this will cost you.
