Speeding fines in your country?

Hi guys, I'm italian and I'd like to know what u think about the penalties applied for speeding in Italy. Are them the same as in the UK or less severe?

On every road, speeding not more than 26 mph OVER the limit: no licence suspension, 130 pounds fine.

Speeding more than 26 mph over the limit: one month licence suspension and 200 pounds fine.

In Italy you never go to a court for speeding, and radars can't be hidden: there must be a sign before them.

Maybe that's why we run so much:))

Is it the same in your Country? Ciao e grazie!

  1. The UK is more severe. The standard fine is a £60 fixed penalty and 3 points (12 points and you are suspended). If you are going at a speed the police consider dangerous then they may well charge you with careless or dangerous driving as well. Dangerous driving usually means suspension. If you are caught doing in excess of 100mph on a motorway (or anywhere else for that matter) then expect to lose your licence for up to a year + fine +points.

  2. Also i believe if you double the  UK designated road speed its a court appearance..... 60 in a 30.....  140 in a 70 could land you with a prison sentance.
