Hi every1

I was flashed by a camera van (never saw one - not sure if it was marked)

pictured doing 36 along a 30 mph road Hardly "excessive" !

Is there any thing I can do to avoid (3) Points?

Regards

Tony

  1. the only thing you could do, is argue it out with them if you could prove you did'nt see anything at the time you were going through the area...

failing that no, you can't do much about it.....

i had the same thing happen to me where i live, i came into a 30 mph road and i was doing 33.....did'nt stop the ticket coming through the door.....

i did'nt even see a van or nothing, ( mind you when your concentrating on your speed, you tend not to notice anyway ), but as far as i know, if there is a sign saying about cameras, then it could be any type, fixed ones, vans , i have also heard of hidden ones,( but don't quote me on that one ).......

  2. Yes.

The best proven method to avoid (3) points would be to NOT be doing 36 along a 30 mph road.

While this concept may sound a bit simplistic I have found that in many instances it is a very difficult concept for a lot of people to understand.

Oddly enough it not only pertains to traffic infractions but to many other crimes as well.

I have found that the absolute best possible method of avoid being punished for a crime is to NOT do the crime.

    I hope this helps you.

  3. Depending on what state you are in- you can take a driving class and get points reduced from you license. Like in my state even if you take a motorcycle course you can get points dropped from your license ( i think that it was three but i took the class 2 years ago). Or fight the ticket and win and then you dont have to worry about the points at all.

  4. Depending on where you are and what your local laws are, usually one of your options is to go to traffic school.  Going to traffic school usually erases the citation from your record so you don't have any points.  Some states only allow a person to go to traffic school once every two years.  If this is not an option than you have to pay it and get the points.

I was driving through a small town to go camping, I got flashed by some newly installed camera for speeding.  I got flashed on the way up and on the way back a couple of days later.  I did not even know I got caught on camera until several weeks later I received two tickets in the mail with my picture of me driving past the camera 58 in a 45 and 57 in a 45.  I went to traffic school for one of them and I'm eating the other one(paying and points).
