  1. Many cameras at traffic lights detect both speed and red light violations simply to curtail 'amber gamblers'. If you went through on amber then you most certainly will not get a ticket for that as you have not committed any offence in law. The camera will be set so that a vehicle has definitely crossed the stop line on a red before an offence is committed. However accelerating to 30mph in a 20 zone will trigger an offence, assuming that the 20mph limit has a proper legal order to back it up. The Council should be able to give you the full details of the order though there may be a cost. Without an order the road is still 30mph, irrespective of what signs the council puts up to the contrary. By law you must receive notification of an offence within 14 days, if the police miss that deadline they cannot proceed.

  2. In the US, they are white.  I know that doesn't answer your question.  Whether or not you got busted, why worry about it?  If you don't get a ticket, then it's fine, if you do, then pay it and get on with your life.

Consider that only 10% of traffic photos taken in the UK end up with a person being ticketed.  So the odds are on your side.

  3. speeding at amber shouldn't happen anyway according to the highway agency so it looks like manchester city council are cracking down on it. You will be likely to be hit with a ticket.

  4. Sorry Cas ,you are doomed

  5. the flash is usually white

  6. Gatso flashes are white. It's time for you to worry for the next week or so.

  7. yes it did come from the camera sorry

  8. normally the flashes are really light so if it was really noticable<<you did

  9. it depends sum are blue sum r white

    xx

  10. No they are white and it may have been picking someone else up .. You will know in about a week or two as to whether you get a ticket in the mail or not.. Some lights do take pictures on yellow but you can fight it..

  11. Sounds like you were snapped.

I have been snapped twice and never heard anything about it since half of the cameras dont have film. If it is the digital system then you may be unlucky. If it was on trafic lights it may be due to a accident blackspot and there as a deterant to light dodgers.

Nothing you can do about it .... wait it out and see what happens.

  12. don't be an amber gambler.

  13. sounds to me like the ticket will be in the mail shortly.  Pay it and do the traffic school if you want.

  14. A lesson in Uk traffic light sequence.

    Red: STOP

Red & Amber: PREPARE TO GO

    Green: GO

Amber: STOP (Not prepare to stop or put your foot down. STOP)

    Red: STOP

If you follow these simple rules you avoid fines, points and accidents.

  15. It more than likley was because they go off if you are to far into the yellow light as well

  16. The flashes are white - you possibly got caught

  17. well i guess youll find out in the mail in a day or two..

  18. If you get a ticket you could try arguing that to stop may have caused an accident because their was a car too close to the back of yours and you felt that if you braked it may have collided with yours.

  19. just wait and see you are freaking out for nothing especially if you were not speeding
