I got a speeding ticket ( i am 24 yrs old)....I was going 35 on 25. I asked the officer to show me the radar to see, but she said I will have to go to jail and wait for the paper-work...?

So now, I just want to know ,Will my insurance go up?

Can I just pay for the ticket? will it show any points or record on my license? What's the best way to handle this?

I don't mind paying the fine, just worry about the insurance money.

Thank you!

  1. a speeding ticket is a moving violation, points on your license and an increase in your insurance, just pay the fine and slow down, lesson learned.

  2. Ask the court is your state provides for defensive driving or a deferred sentence as an alternative to conviction and whether is saves yuor insurance

  3. Call the clerk of the court in whatever area you are in. Ask if they have a driving school you can attend in stead of a fine,,if so take the school.  In some states ,like mine Fla., if you pass the school they will withhold the points and fine but it will still show on your record and you are only allowed to attend the school once in every 18 months.  Your' insurance company won't know about the ticket unless you tell them or they check your record for some reason.  The police and courts do not notify any insurance companies. Also there is a fee for attending the school but its not a fine....

  4. I'd pay it.
