Speeding ticket, plead not guilty, need to reset court date.

I got a speeding ticket in pasadena, texas and pleaded not guilty and had my court date set for next week on wednesday aug 13.my question is, can i change the court date to either monday morning by just showing up or can i reschedule it for the following week, seeing that i am unable to make an an appearance this week.

  1. It is possible.  I suggest you call the court coordinator to explain your dilemma.  Be aware that courts belief they are more important than your job, school, or family so you better have a really valid reason for needing a different court date.  Most municipal courts deal with these situations a lot so don't worry about it too much.


  2. You can probably reschedule.  Call the court and ask.  Follow up the call with a written letter confirming the new date.  Don't assume that the town court is open every day of the weak for you to schedule a date whenever you want.
