  1. Why was it a setup? Because you got caught? Can you prove you weren't doing 43? I'll bet the officer can prove you were. If not, plead guilty and pay the fine.

  2. Were you going over 40 MPH in a 25 MPH zone? If so, you should have admitted your actions and pled guilty.

Dress nicely, call the judge "Your Honor", call the cops "officer", and don't try to b\/ullsh1t your way out of the ticket.

Ask how they knew you were speeding. If it's a radar gun, there's no way you can convinve anyone that it was so badly out of calibration that your 24.99 MPH was read as 43.

  3. If you're trying to get out of the ticket, the best you can hope for is that the cops don't show up to the hearing and the judge lets you off....But seriously, you were lucky...2 more miles per hour over the limit and the cop could have arrested you on the spot and impounded your car.

I would try some honesty and humility....you screwed up and you're ready to accept responsibility for it.....Let's just hope your cop doesn't use YA....

  4. Yeah, lie to a judge and see what happens.

  5. that happened to me before. whatever you do, do NOT admit it's your fault. say it was a mistake. you'll get a reduced fine and 3 (maybe 2) points on your record.

  6. be honest> the judge might lower the speed which will reduce the fine amount - just go to court looking pretty and humble :)

  7. You should say that you're guilty, and pay the ticket.

Sure, it was a setup. And you fell for it. You were speeding, and they nailed you.

What part of this confused you?

Especially seeing as you were going almost double the speed limit. In a lot of areas, that's not speeding, that's reckless driving. You should be glad you just got a speeding violation.

  8. Yeah, I'm pretty sure there are speeding traps everywhere. Sucks don't it. You really can't do anything about the ticket besides pay. Keep in mind that it's on your record and cops will be more likely to pull you over now....
