Speeding ticket in a rural area

in a small town court.... If the cop does not show up, is the ticket dismissed or does the DA take over, if there is one.

  1. The office isn't obliged to show up for your court date. That's only in very large cities where they're trying to move the docket through rapidly, and the city attorney is there and ready to go to trial. A lot of them will dismiss if the officer doesn't show. But in a small town, you're just there to plead. If you plead not guilty, they'll set it, and the officer and city attorney will be there then.  


  2. It depends on your court rules. The ticket could be dismissed. You could win on other grounds such as technical ommissions or lack of evidence. See more directions on how to beat the ticket on the blog spot.
