  1. In addition to issuing a warrant for your arrest (which never goes away), Missouri will suspend your license in every state in the country.  it will eventually catch up to you in FL, though it may take some time.

Contrary to an answerer above, the Statute of Limitations is the amount of time that a state has to issue the warrant in the first place.  Once the warrant is out, the clock stops and the warrant stays forever until you fix it.

You will dig yourself a very deep hole unless you take care of business.

  2. **** that ticket. They'll put out a local warrant for your arrest for a couple of years while you'll be in another state. Gotta love the statute of limitations for some things.

*Note: DPS issues span nationwide. A speeding ticket is not one of those necessarily - especially from Missouri to Florida.

  3. Yes, you need to pay the ticket. If not, a warrant for your arrest can and will be issued. That is not something you want. If it were me, I would pay the ticket. It is the right thing to do. You were speeding. It's not like they give away tickets for doing nothing. It is a good way to learn your lesson. Just pay the ticket and get it over with.

In Missouri, motorists can negotiate the severity of a speeding ticket through several approaches. At the scene of the citation, explain any justification for the violation to the officer and politely ask for a warning in lieu of a citation. Contact the District Attorney’s office for the county where the ticket was issued and ask for the prosecuting attorney assigned to the date and time of your scheduled court appearance. Appear in traffic court, if required, at the assigned date at least thirty minutes early.

You are angry because out of all the speeding cars on the road, you are the one that was pulled over, but now is not the time to show it. Pull over as soon as possible if you even think that you might be the one that the highway patrol car is after, pull over. Always pull over to the right. When a police officer first pulls you over, he/she will ask for your license, registration, and insurance. Wait until the officer asks you for your information and then tell her or him that you are going to be reaching into the glove box or reaching into your purse or reaching to turn on the light. Make the officer feel safe. Don’t be nervous and start saying thing that could incriminate you. If the officer asks you a question, be truthful. Don’t ever argue.

Nobody likes driving slow. Have a reason. Be nice. Say you're sorry. Appeal to his sense of humor. Admit you were speeding. Ask for his leniency.

  4. Doesn't matter where you move to in the US, DMV runs all information with DCI. Meaning if you fail to take care of an out of state citation the DMV will revoke your drivers license. You cannot get another license thinking you will avoid the citation by doing so. The best way to take care of the citation being that your not from that state is to have an attorney to appear in court for you and plea to an improper equipment charge. Meaning you pay for the citation plus the court fine and the attorney fee. It's better than just paying for the citation because your insurance will go up for the next three years. In the long run, what you pay in the three will be less than the three years in insurance fees.
