I like the name ('al-ee-za') but I can't find a spelling that fits. It needs to be a spelling that is clearly pronouncable.

to make it biblical, add an h, like aleezah.

it is a hebrew name, that means joyful, so it definetly has a good meaning. I also like that name beacuase it is rare, you baby will never know another kid with that name. my name is the same way, alexa, I love my name, it means defender of man kind.

I was wondering the same thing! I asked about it a while back.

In my opinion, the best spelling to get the sound "Uh-lee-zuh" is either Aleisa or Aliza.

Alisa might work too, but you'd have to sacrifice the "z" sound.

Keep it the way you spelled it out (Aleeza) that way it keeps the A short and the E long......all others will give a short I sound in the middle or an S or SH sound on the end instead of a Z sound.
